Oh yes! Your list is so much like mine. While I think I understand why people put things like ramen soup and hotdogs on a list, it seems like it would be nutritionally better to buy one pound of hamburger ($1.49 on sale) and stretch it with half a bag of beans that a family likes and skip the nitrate dogs. We use a lot of dried beans to *stretch* meat in our recipes. I use the quick method of boiling them on the stove, covering for two hours then they go into the pressure cooker for only two minutes. Great way to have quick nachos, bean soups, and chilis.

Agree...we try to keep it healthy as well as inexpensive. Which reminds me...I need to make more bean recipes. I've gotten away from this lately in favor of noodles and rice. Beans are so healthy.
